The movie, Avengers: Infinity War had a lot of moments and scenes where things could have been very different if the characters had not done what they actually did. The entire plot would have been very different if Wanda had just destroyed the mind stone at the start of the movie and if Gamora had just killed herself.
The Avengers would have also emerged victorious if Thor had aimed for the head, and if Star-Lord had just kept his cool. Now,
This is what Joe & Anthony Russo had said:
Joe – “I mean, look, he’s a character who’s gone through a lot of pain. He’s lost a lot of people in his life. He was kidnapped by pirates when he was ten years old, raised by pirates, lost his mother, had to kill his father, and in the movie, the love of his life is taken from him. So if you can’t understand someone making a human choice like that, I don’t know if you understand humanity very well. But he is a flawed character, and that’s what’s so compelling about him.”
Anthony – “That moment is very emotionally truthful, and I think that’s why we bought it in the moment and that’s why we loved it as a storytelling point because it made him so vulnerable.”
While they had been taking part in the Q&A session that had been held by Collider, they had revealed that the outcome of the movie, Infinity War would have been different if the character, Star-Lord had not snapped at Thanos. They had claimed that the Mad Titan would never have been able to get the Gauntlet back from the Avengers if they had gotten it. This is what Joe Russo said:
“No. That was the turning point of that scene. Again, these are flawed characters that make emotional choices, human choices. Had Quill not done that, the movie might have ended right there.”
Now, all the fans have to accept the fact that the snap had happened and that half the Universe has been wiped out. The movie, Avengers 4 will follow the superheroes as they try and reverse the effects of the snap.
