The epic saga of Mark Ruffalo’s firing from the MCU and his unemployment had taken yet another turn with the release of the all-new trailer for Avengers: Endgame. Bruce Banner has been making appearances in the new footage, and this indicated that Ruffalo may not have been fired after all.

However, it seems like Joe and Anthony Russo have not forgiven or forgotten. The actor may make star in the sequel, but this does not mean that he is sticking around. After Ruffalo had posted about this trailer, the Russos responded with a pretty funny reply:

“Don’t push your luck…” the Russo Brothers had written.

This hilarious “feud” between Ruffalo and the directors has been a very entertaining element of the promotion for Infinity War and also Avengers: Endgame. Ruffalo had accidentally live-streamed the beginning of the movie, Thor: Ragnarok on Instagram from the movie’s world premiere.

Ruffalo had even “angered” Don Cheadle during an interview on Good Morning America when he had revealed that “everybody dies” in Infinity War.

He had then gone on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon for promoting a registration initiative for young voters and had jokingly revealed the Avengers 4 title.

The directors had addressed the movie’s secrecy and how this would affect everyone involved during the Q&A with Collider:

“It is very difficult when your job is to sort of personalise these stories, personalise these characters, and sort of bring all your creative, collaborative energy to a process that lasts many, many months — sometimes more than a year — it’s a big part of your life,” Anthony had said.

“So it’s very hard not to talk about this stuff because you live with it for so long and you live with it so deeply. We have developed a process where you take pressure off of people by letting them know less. It’s less responsibility they have to edit themselves, so we’ve developed an elaborate process by which we try to only let people know what they absolutely need to know. And it makes a little bit easier for them to edit themselves.”

Avengers: Endgame will release on April 26th.
