Former MTV India VJ and occasional model, and television presenter Sophie Choudry was born on 8th February 1982. She has been active primarily in Indian films.
She started her career on Zee Tv UK in the mi’90s’s presenting Your Zindagi. The UK founded roadshow attending Mela’s with co-presenter Maz Alam. She also related Zee Top 10, a chart shows also founded in the UK before she launched her career in Music.
When she was just 12 years old, her talent was found out by noted music director Biddu, who initiated her musical career. She, at first, lent her voice as a backup singer to playback singers like Alisha Chinai, Shweta Shetty.
In the year 2000, Sophie began her career as a pop singer with her all-female band Sansara with a song that Choudry herself wrote. Very soon the band detached and Sophie began her solo singing career, donning the videos Habibi and Le Le Mera Dil in 2001. Her latest single Aaj Naiyo Sauna.
Sophie then shifted to Mumbai in 2002, becoming a VJ for MTV India and presenting the hit show MTV Loveline, eventually which gained her vogue. Less than one year on, Sophie backed with her newest offering, Baby Love. According to Sophie, she was heard in over 400 songs to come up with her perfect 12.
In December 2009, she inaugurated her album Sound of Sophie, which had no remixes, but only original numbers. This album commemorated her association with the Indian fashion brand MADAME, who hired her as their first brand ambassador. She worked with well-recognized music composers such as Bappi Lahiri, Rishi Rich, Biddu and Gaurav Das Gupta in the album. Sophie has also partaken in season 7 of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.
