Susanna Lee Hoffs is the co-founder of the American Pop-Rock band ‘The Bangles’. She is an American vocalist, songwriter, guitarist, and actress.
Hoffs was born on January 17, 1959, to a Jewish family in Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of film writer/director/producer Tamar Ruth (née Simon) and Joshua Allen Hoffs, a psychoanalyst.
Hoffs inspired by punk bands like ‘The Ramones’, founded ‘The Bangles’ with Vicki Peterson & Debbi Peterson in Los Angeles, California in 1981. The Bangles formally disbanded in 1989.
Hoffs contacted the other members of The Bangles in the 1990s with the hope of reuniting. They even recorded a single called “Get the Girl” for the second Austin Powers movie in 1999.
