It doesn’t seem to be a good time to stay at Springfield at the moment especially if you are a part of the Simpson family. In the new episode of, “The Girl on the Bus,” a clip of the MCU villain, Thanos had been shown dusting the family.
After assembling five Infinity stones, the Mad Titan had used Maggie’s pacifier for completing his Infinity Gauntlet and turned four of the Simpsons into dust. Homer, Marge Lisa and Bart had been dusted away.
Once the rest of Maggie’s family has been dusted away, Maggie crawls onto the couch and sits next to Thanos.
This is not the first time that the sitcom has used Marvel characters in their show, but it may could be one of the most understood ad iconic references connecting The Simpsons with the MCU.
The Simpsons is now airing the record-breaking 30th season on Fox, and this show has been expected to be renewed after the current season ends.
Though he has made an appearance in MCU cameos before, Avengers: Infinity War had been a film that featured Thanos, and this character has been expected to have a much bigger role in the movie, Avengers: Endgame. According to the directors, Joe and Anthony Russo, the mad Titan will be a very different character now that he has completed his main goal.
“These are characters and a story moving forward where Infinity War happened,” Anthony had said.
“The entire universe experienced the same fate, and has been brought together by this experience.”
“He’s succeeded in the thing he has set out to do,” Joe had said of Thanos’ current state in the MCU. “He’s done. He did it. He’s retired.”
Avengers: Infinity War is now streaming on Netflix, in addition to being available for purchase digitally and on home media. Marvel Studios has three movies on their release schedule this year, including Captain Marvel on March 8th, Avengers: Endgame on April 26th, and Spider-Man: Far From Home on July 5th.
