American actress, comedian, writer, producer, and playwright Elizabeth Stamatina Fey was born in 1970 in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania, just west of Philadelphia, to Xenobia Jeanne and Donald Henry Fey. She is popularly known as Tina Fey. Tina researched drama at the University of Virginia, and after graduating in 1992, she led to Chicago, the traditional home of American comedy. While working at a YMCA to support herself, she began Second City’s first set of courses. Tina ended up expending many years at The Second City in Chicago where several SNL cast members first started.
Then in 1995, Saturday Night Live arrived at The Second City’s cast, comprising Fey’s friend, Adam McKay, as a writer, searching for new talent. What they found was Tina Fey. When Adam was made the main writer, he implied Tina should send a submission packet over the summer with six sketches, 10 pages each. Tina took the advice and sent them. She is well-known for creating the famous comedy series 30 Rock and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Tina is similarly known for her work in film, with starring characters in Date Night, Baby Mama, Most Wanted, Whisky Tango Foxtrot, Wine Country, Muppets Most Wanted. In the year 2011, she published her biography, named Bossypants, which topped The New York Times Best Seller list for five weeks and garnered her a Grammy Award selection.
In the year 2015, she co-built the Netflix comedy series Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Tina created the musical modification Mean Girls, which premiered on Broadway in 2018, and received her a Tony Award nomination. Tina has received five Screen Actors Guild Awards, nine Primetime Emmy Awards, seven Writers Guild of America Awards, three Golden Globe Awards. In the year 2008, the Associated Press provided Tina the AP Entertainer of the Year award for her Sarah Palin impression on SNL. In the year 2010, she was awarded the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, becoming the youngest-ever recipient of the award. Tina is wedded to actor-producer Jeff Richmond a Second City director and lives in New York City. Together they have two children.
