The actor, Joaquin Phoenix had made a very good impression in the debut trailer for Todd Phillips’ Joker origin movie, but there had been a lot of other details for the fans to pick up on. The trailer had given us our very first looks at Joker’s characters, and these included Penny Fleck (Frances Conroy), Sophie Dumond (Zazie Beetz), Thomas Wayne (Brett Cullen) and Murray Franklin (Robert De Niro).
Thomas Wayne might not have been the only Wayne member who had been snuck into this trailer.
In this trailer, the fans see a young boy with Fleck. This boy is on the inside of a gate, and it gives the impression that there is a huge distance between the gate and the building. It looks like it is the Wayne Manor and the boy is pretty well dressed.
Fleck then puts his hands right through the bars and makes the little boy smile. The fans are saying this that this Bruce Wayne.
Now, the film does not take place within the continuity of all the other DC movies. This is a solo take on the Joker, so unless there is a sequel to this film, you will not see ties to any other DCEU films like Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman or Justice League.
Joker stars Zazie Beetz (Sophie Dumond), Phoenix (Arthur Fleck/Joker), Brett Cullen (Thomas Wayne), Robert De Niro (Murray Franklin), Marc Maron (Ted Marco), Frances Conroy (Penny Fleck), Josh Pais (Hoyt Vaughn), Douglas Hodge (Alfred Pennyworth), Bryan Callen, Bryan Tyree Henry, Glen Fleshler and Shea Whigham, This is the official description:
“Drama. Joker centres around the iconic arch-nemesis and is an original, standalone story not seen before on the big screen. The exploration of Arthur Fleck (Joaquin Phoenix), a man disregarded by society, is not only a gritty character study but also a broader cautionary tale.”
Joker hits theatres on October 4th.
