Zazie Olivia Beetz, popularly known as Zazie Beetz, is an actress from Germany. She is a German-American actress, born on June 1, in the year 1991 in Berlin. Her father was an immigrant to the US in the year 1990, after the fall of the Berlin Wall. He was by profession a German Cabinet maker. Zazie could not stay very long with her parents as they soon separated when she was still very young. Her name was given based on the titular character in the novel Zazie in the Metro, a story by Raymond Queneau.
Zazie attended her school in Berlin but later moved to New York with her family. She was just eight years old when she moved to New York. She was capable of speaking both German and English at home with her family. She grew up very close to Washington Heights. From there, she grew an interest in acting. By then, she had already been a part of Muscota New School. In her school, she started taking part in school functions and community theatres. She completed her graduation from the famous LaGuardia High School in the year 2009. Later in the year 2013, she graduated from Skidmore College, having a bachelor’s degree in French. Then she spent a year staying in Pars.
Her career in acting started in the year 2013. She started acting in short films and television shows. In 2013, her first short film, The Crocotta released with Zazie as the lead role of Crocotta. The other short films she has acted in are Beasts in 2014, James White, Double-Blind, and Applesauce in 2015. She had also performed in Wolves in 2016, Geo Stormin 2017, Deadpool 2 and Slice in 2018, Wounds, joker and Lucy in the sky in 2019. Her latest work has been in the year 2020, in the film Nine Days.
